Garden Island Project

Garden Island is an inner-city locality of Sydney, Australia, and the location of a major Royal Australian Navy base. It is located to the north-east of the Sydney central business district and juts out into Port Jackson, immediately to the north of the suburb of Potts Point.

This beautiful harbour side location is home to various heritage listed builds that include slate, copper, lead & sandstone structures. Heritage Slate were trusted to help restore some of the buildings that required immediate expert attention.

The scope of the project included removing old weathered slate - replacing with brand new Welsh Slate (Penryhn), terracotta ridges, various custom made lead covers on existing parapets, and lead flaunching capping at the peak of the chimneys.
